RM Williams: Autumn Winter 1929 Jan 2019
The Autumn Winter 2019 collection continues to draw from the rich archives of R.M.Williams, our heritage as suppliers of hard-wearing, honest workwear and Sunday-best for the stockmen and women of Australia.
It is inspired by Australian artist Russell Drysdale, one of the country’s foremost modernist painters, whose revolutionary post-war work forged a new image of the Australian outback. Drysdale’s visions of barren hills, gnarled and twisted trees, dusty earth and ancient rock formations celebrate the endurance of both our landscape and its inhabitants.
This is our backdrop for presenting the colours of the seasonal collection, which are inspired by Drysdale’s paintings, and include warm, saturated tones such as Indigo, Russet, Ochre and Olive. This catalogue was photographed in Mungo National Park, a World Heritage site in south-western New South Wales rich in Aboriginal history, with undisturbed landforms that span thousands of years.
The season features new styles of footwear, with the Sturt Desert Boot for men, and for women the Eden Buckle Boot. Additional styles in our Burnished Collection are available, with the beautiful hand-finished technique applied by our craftsmen and women in Adelaide providing rich gradations of colour for an ‘antique’ finish. Furthering our heritage of functional accessories, we introduce the Signature Collection of contemporary luggage, tote and handbags.
