Stirred by the purity of the natural world and the great Australian pre-Impressionist paintings of artists John Glover and Eugene von Guérard, M.J. Bale’s Winter 21 collection is Inspired by Nature.
The Australian-owned menswear brand’s Winter 21 collection includes single-source ‘Kingston’ suits, blazers, and a tuxedo created from Merino wool grown entirely on the conservationist Kingston farm in the northern Midlands of Tasmania. Kingston’s boundaries almost border John Glover’s historic Patterdale farm, where the artist moved in 1832. Glover painted his atmospheric, light-filled landscapes at Patterdale until his death in 1849. Kingston farm is currently nearing the end of its year-long trial with M.J. Bale and sustainable seaweed producer Sea Forest to create a world-first Carbon Neutral Wool.
M.J. Bale has expanded its ‘single-source’ program this season with the 5th generation Ashby farm in the Tasmanian Midlands. Run by the Bennett family, Ashby extrafine Merino wool is used exclusively in five styles of knitwear: cardigans, turtlenecks, crew and V-necks and long-sleeve polo knits.
